Looking to take up the challenge this year?
The Great North Run is the World's biggest half marathon and perhaps one of the most exciting. The race which is 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields is extremely popular with 47,000 runners taking part.
1) To secure a guaranteed entry place with Children in Crisis you will need to fill in the Children in Crisis Great North Run application form, which you can download (or if you prefer, call Caroline Barnes on 020 7627 1040 and we will send or email you a copy). We do ask that our guaranteed runners raise a minimum sponsorship of £300 and pay a (non refundable) registration fee of £50 which will cover the cost of the place. If you are successful in securing a place we will contact you with further information.
2) You could also try and secure your own running place by applying directly to the Great North Run organisers. If you do this, please then send us your own place runners application form. Public entries for the Great North Run 2008 are not open yet but you can find out more information about the ballot at www.greatrun.org
Runners whose applications reflect their commitment to the charity and fundraising efforts will be prioritised when confirming places.
