Barclays Capital supports Children in Crisis

Barclays Capital Logo

A fearless team from Barclays Capital is undertaking the ultimate challenge on behalf of international children’s charity, Children in Crisis.  Six members of their staff are competing against teams from five other City banks in the Enduro Challenge 2009.

Braving the Enduro Challenge this year are teams from: Barclays Capital, Credit Suisse, Tudor, UBS, Deutsche Bank and SocGen.

We know who we are ‘banking’ on!

BarCap Enduro Challenge Launch Day

Each team has been challenged to complete a lengthy 87 mile run from London to Dover, followed by a gruelling 29 mile cross-Channel swim and finally a 180 mile cycle ride from Calais to Paris.

All six members of the team will take it in turns to run, swim and cycle, with only a short gap between each section to catch their breath.  The most testing part of this demanding challenge will be when the participants plunge into the Channel (without wetsuits) in temperatures of around 15°C.

The team from Barclays Capital would like to raise as much money as possible to enable Children in Crisis to train teachers, build schools and give children, many of whose young lives have been devastated by war, their first transforming steps out of poverty and despair.
