London Marathon 2012  London Marathon 2012     On April 22nd 45 runners took to the streets of London to complete the 2012 Virgin London Marathon for Children in Crisis. We were out to support our wonderful runners on the course with cheer points at mile 19 and 24. The runners were welcomed back to our post-race reception with a well-deserved massage, some food to re-fuel and a goody bag. It was lovely to meet so many of our great team and their supporters. Rowan PellingShe won! As you may know our supporter Rowan Pelling took part in the Funny Women Charity Challenge for International Women's Day and won! She performed a stand-up routine at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in front of friends, mentors, colleagues and other women competing in the challenge. Taught by the best Mentored by our supporter and trustee Julia Streets and raising money for Children in Crisis, she was voted to be the funniest woman in the challenge and won a Funny Women trophy....

Sierra Leone - KambiaIn January 2012 Children in Crisis began a new project in Kambia, Sierra Leone, predominantly funded by DFID. Our Programme Manager Becky Midlane has just returned from the brand new office in Kambia where she was spending time with the Children in Crisis and FAWE staff who make up the team, getting ready for the onset of the more in-depth part of the project. Mount Kilimanjaro On January 4th 2011, Sean Salji climbed the 5,895 meters up to Uhuru Peak at the top of Mount Kilimajaro, Tanzania. Climbing Mount Kilimajaro is certainly a fantastic acheivement in itself and we know how many people go to climb one of the world most beautiful mountains.
