In April 2015, Burundi’s president declared an illegal third term in office. Since then the ruling party and its youth militia wing have unleashed brutal violence on anyone seen to disagree with the government. More than 278,000 Burundians have fled their homes into neighbouring countries.
22,000 Burundians must now call Lusenda refugee camp their home. Thousands of these refugees are teenagers, many of them are alone, having been separated from their families as they ran.
